Experience
11/07 - Current Nuneaton Training Centre Ltd (NTC) FT
Office Administrator
At NTC I maintain their website that I designed, which requires regular updates and maintenance. I coordinate their short courses by taking internal and external bookings, arranging the courses, providing the course material and following through the procedure by arranging for the test papers to be sent off, and certificates to be accordingly processed and disseminated. I also register and prepare people for exams.
Our learners are entitled to a weekly allowance from the EMA. The process of confirming attendance through timesheets and inputting the information that decides whether the learners get paid each week is my responsibility.
I maintain several large databases, which are generally updated on a daily basis. I design and create our quarterly newsletter and various other Publisher and Word based documents/publications.
I also cover various other administration duties such as photocopying, filing, laminating, making up learner packs and course material. I also help cover reception and meet and greet visitors.
05/06 - 03/08 Nuneaton & Bedworth Council for Voluntary Service (CVS) PT
Office Administrator
At CVS I have a great deal of responsibilities from supervising volunteers, creating the quarterly newsletter to updating and re-designing both the CVS and CVS 1st Steps websites. I also undertake all general office duties, such as creating documents, databases, annual reports, publicity material; keeping track of each department’s finance through spreadsheets; scanning, photocopying, copy printing, faxing, filing, book keeping etc. I organise events by booking rooms, catering and people onto courses/events. My role also involves communication with the general public, be it through email, the website or on the phone. I sometimes cover reception, where I am required to meet and greet, put calls through to different offices and take messages. While in this post I completed various training courses, these being first-aid, book keeping, minute taking and an Apprenticeship in Business & Administration NVQ Level 3.
02/04– 04/06 J Sainsbury’s, Nuneaton PT
Customer Service Assistant
At Sainsbury’s I worked on the tills, serving the general public, dealing with a wide range of issues and any problems that may occur. As a result, my people skills are well developed, allowing me to deal with most circumstances that arise within a retail environment.
2002 – 2004 Heatwave, Nuneaton PT
Receptionist
My role at Heatwave was to run the shop by manning the front desk, serving and assisting customers, and closing down at the end of the night. Closing down consisted of cashing up, handing out wages and locking up the shop. This involved a great deal of responsibility, not only dealing with monetary issues but also with the everyday running of the business, ensuring any problems or complaints were dealt with.
